“Sormeh” to compete in Greek festival

TEHRAN – Iranian director Azadeh Qochaq’s short film “Sormeh” will be screened at the first edition of the IndieCrete International Film Festival, which will be held in Crete, Greece from August 19 to 21. 

The movie is about a young woman who is getting ready for her wedding ceremony in the heat of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

“Sormeh” won the best film award at the 11th Dieciminuti Film Festival in the Italian city of Ceccano in January.
